Art is sensibility,
it is a life style,
a religion,
it is a deep breath.

MY STATEMENT
Much of my work deals with light, reflection and hope.
It is clean and not overly organized. A bit like myself.
If there is such a thing as the perfection of what isn’t, then I like it.
Nature is my muse; smells, textures, shades, prints, changes; Life itself, magic.
I see a branch, imagine a slightly bent line ....a dash of light
representing the hour or the season or the reason. That’s inspiration.
All this I try to pour into kiln formed techniques while my intent is neither
to mimic nature nor to make you see this or that... I just hope you feel it too.

BIO
Born in Mexico to a Peruvian family, Andrea moved to Brasil at a young age and then back to Peru where she finished her secondary education. At the age of 18 she decided to explore Europe. Andrea spent some time in London, Lausanne, Aix-en –Provance and finally moved to Germany on a scholarship program. As a student of various arts including photography and saxophone, her curiosity took her to try out other areas such as translation and marketing. After all these adventures, Andrea moved back to Peru and worked for El Comercio (the main newspaper) for 5 years. Hired as a second tier photographer, quickly became a second tier journalist.Time passed ...she had a lot of jobs... mainly in the marketing and graphic design area. She loved them all! After exploring many countries, Andrea and her family moved to Costa Rica in 2001. They fell in love with the country and decided to build a small hotel in Playa Negra, a beautiful and peaceful beach in the north Pacific Coast.
While settling down in her new life, Andrea met this incredibly talented woman from New York , who with a kiln formed studio in our miniscule town taught her what she did not know would become her passion … glass. Thank you Carol.
At present, Andrea displays and sells her work at GALERIA 3 in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
